Abstract:

This paper studies the relationship between cultural capital and trust in foundations and organizations. Its method is quantitative and its technique is survey. The sample content includes 384 youths aged 14-29 in Shiraz who have been selected through Multi-stage stratified sampling. The Data collection tools include questionnaire, and data analysis has been undertaken via SPSS. Evaluating the validity and reliability of questionnaire has been performed through face validity and Kronbach’s Alpha coefficient. And multi-variant regression has been used in the inferential statistics section. The results indicate that the two factors of watching satellite and television have entered the equation in all of the models, where watching satellite and watching TV lie in a negative and positive relation to the dependent variable respectively. Moreover, historical- religious and scientific aspects have entered the equation in most of the models where both of them have a positive relation to dependant variable. The individual’s education is also considered as a variant included in most of the models but with a negative relation to the dependant variable.

Abstract:

Generally speaking, organizations and their appropriate operations play a vital role in the modern societies. In addition, administrative transparency and organizational establishment are among the most important determinants of the quantity and quality of institutional trust. This article is based on the results of a survey on a sample of householders in Nourabad-Mamasani City. The survey examines how the individuals’ perceptions on administrative transparency and organizational establishment are associated with institutional trust. The results of this analysis indicate that people have the strongest trust towards military and security institutions, whereas the weakest trust goes towards institutions that are responsible for controlling the price of goods and services. Moreover, the results show that there is a significantly positive association between institutional trust on the one hand, and staff’ s behavior, organizational establishment and quality of supervisory organizations, on the other hand. This applies to the trust toward all three types of institutions: governmental, supportive and educational, and economic services institutions. The variables included in this analysis could explain 29 per cent of variation in the trust towards governmental institutions, 19 per cent of variation in the trust towards economic services institutions, and 12 per cent of variation in the trust towards supportive and monitoring institutions.

Abstract:

Social trust is an important component of social development and modern development that has special significance in social science debate today. One of the main factors of social trust is the trust in organizations that are considered as institutional trust in social researches. This type of trust is analyzed in the present study and it has been tried to determine this kind of trust in the society by using the data from the "fifth wave of the World Values Surveys" in Iran.in fact, the goal is to recognize confidence in institutions in age grouping based on the sociological concept of "race". The findings of the present study show that the mean institutional trust among the people is "average" and erosion process of intergenerational comparisons (but less) can be seen, while there is a significant difference between the institutional trust of first generation (55 years or older) and third generation (15 to 29 years).

Abstract:

The main question of this research is, what is the relationship between trust to cyber social networks and social trust factors and institutional trust among students? The main hypothesis is that trust on social networks (facebook, twitter and etc) has meaningful impact on factors of social trust (family and religious & national identity) and institutional trust in two levels of government and civil institutions. The overall finding of this study shows that in the form of structural equations, 38% of the dependent variable, means institutional trust, was determined by independent variables, means trust in the social network and the mediating variables of social factors (family, national identity, and religious identity). Trust in social networks has a 26% negative effect on social factors of trust specially national identity, and this decrease in social trust also reduces institutional trust specially in governmental-sovereignty level. Among the components of social factors, national identity has the most negative impact on social networks with 23%; among institutional components, trust in political institutions indirectly has the highest negative impact on 14% of social networks, ultimately the main hypothesis of this research is proved.

Abstract:

In this paper, we try to examine the relationship between the three concepts of institutional trust, university, and political socialization. Institutional trust is one of the most important assets and needs of each institution to advance its functions. On the other hand, one of the most important functions of written and non-written of public universities in the Islamic Republic of Iran is to influence the process of political socialization of their main audience, students. The main issue of this article is that institutional trust as the most important indicator of social capital has a significant effect on the political socialization of undergraduate students at Tehran's public universities as a statistical society of this research. Postulating the theory of Robert Putnam on the concept of social capital, this article propounds this hypothesis that political socialization in every society carried out mainly through state institutions and the amount of citizen's trust to state institutions, which is called institutional trust and is one of the most important elements of social capital, is very important in the implementation process and the effectiveness of political socialization. Study of statistical findings in the case study of this study showed that with increasing institutional trust in public universities in Tehran, their effectiveness in increasing the political socialization of undergraduate students increase.

Abstract:

Trust is one of the foundations of legitimacy and stability of political systems and affects people's reactions. On the other hand, life satisfaction can also increase the legitimacy of political regimes and strengthen democracy. The global ranking indicates that our country is not in a right place in terms of institutional trust. The amount of this type of trust has faced a significant decrease in ten years (2013-2023). We are also ranked 84th in terms of the global ranking of the quality of life. Therefore, one of the challenges we are facing is a decrease in institutional trust and the citizens' quality of life. Thus, the purpose of the current research is to explain the relationship between institutional trust and quality of life. The data of this study was collected from the world value survey (wave 7) and data processing was done using the structural equation method. The results indicate that the research hypothesis based on the effect of institutional trust on the citizens' quality of life is confirmed and institutional trust explains 22.9% of the variance of the quality of life variable.

Abstract:

The multi-sectoral nature of water management requires cooperation and coordination between actors involved in water governance. The integrity of the water governance network requires the existence of trust between these actors to strengthen communication and interactions between them. This study was conducted to analyze the water governance network in Mazandaran province from the perspective of inter-institutional trust and interaction. In this regard, first, 21 institutions and organizations were identified through archival research, direct observation, and unstructured interviews with experts and activists in the field of water governance in Mazandaran province, and in the next step, to analyze the structure of the pattern of relationships between these institutional activities, social network analysis approach was used. The results of the research showed that the inter-institutional trust and interaction at the level of the water governance network of the province is average, and therefore the communication between the actors of this network is not easily done. Key organizations such as the regional water company, agricultural jihad, and governorate are in an important position at the level of the inter-institutional trust and interaction network, and they play the role of intermediaries. Based on the results of this research, strengthening the trust between water governance actors and their interaction as much as possible at the levels of policy, planning, implementation and monitoring of water projects can improve the coherence of the water governance network of Mazandaran province

Abstract:

Objective: This study aims at investigating social trust and its determinants in Sabzevar city. The dependent variable social trust has been measured through two dimensions: thick trust and thin trust. However our emphasis is on the second one. Hypotheses have been extracted from two theories: social capital theory of Putnam and institutional theory of Rothstein and Stolle.Method: Through survey method and questionnaire technique, a sample of 600 individuals at the age of 18-65 was interviewed.Findings: Results indicates that there is a significant relationship between independent variables including discrimination experience, corruption, feeling social security, institutional trust(these four variables are based on institutional theory) as well as age, and thin trust. These relationships are negative for the first two variables and positive for the rest. However there is not a significant relationship between variables such as participation in formal groups, using media, participation in informal groups, education, income, and job rank. In multivariate analysis using stepwise regression method, four variables entered in the model orderly: institutional trust, corruption, social security and age. The four variables explain 53 percent of the variance of dependent variable- thin trust.Result: All together we found out the Rothstein and Stolle's institutional theory is more suitable to explain social trust than Putnam's social capital theory.
